Little Known Arthritis Natural Remedies – But They Still Work!
We all know about arthritis natural remedies such
as Glucosamine, Chondroitin and Devil's Claw for relieving arthritis pain. These
work wonders for some people and that's all they ever need to take. However
these remedies are not without side effects for some arthritis sufferers.
Glucosamine's effectiveness depends largely on taking the
optimum dosage for your body. Often this is more than the dose advised on the
bottle. To be safe and avoid overdosing, this is best worked out by consulting a
naturopath or a rheumatologist with a knowledge of natural medicine.
Care must be taken when supplementing with chondroitin as
it may possibly increase the risk of prostate cancer.
Devil's Claw is a herb found in Africa and is an effective
anti-inflammatory, however it should not be taken by anyone who has stomach
ulcers. Devils Claw also shouldn't be taken if you have a heart condition or any
condition that requires blood thinning medication.
There are other remedies that it's well worthwhile
experimenting with. Always stick to the recommended dose, unless you are working
with a trusted naturopath who can advise you of the optimal dose for you.
Boron – Boron is a trace mineral and should only be taken
in small amounts, mainly because that's all the body needs and also because it's
toxic in excess. Boron can work wonders for osteoarthritis and even reverse
symptoms.
Sam-E - or
S-adenosylmethionine is
often prescribed and taken for mood elevation and depression, Sam E can also
reduce the pain and inflammation of arthritis.
Here's one for sufferers of Gout. Alfalfa eliminates uric
acid that collects in the joints and leads to painful attacks of gout. Simply
eat some Alfalfa sprouts each day for a period of 21 days and watch your gout
symptoms subside. You can even sprout alfalfa in your own kitchen to ensure it's
fresh
You can also obtain powdered alfalfa or alfalfa tea made
out of the dried herb if sprouts aren't to your taste.
In addition to the above, make sure your diet is as healthy
as can be with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetable and lean sources of protein.
No arthritis remedy – natural or not – will work well if your diet doesn't
provide the building blocks of health!
